Ch-Ch-Changes
This past week started with a Reese’s Peanut Butter Egg frenzy but midweek I pulled it together stuck to my points and posted a -2.6 at WW this morning.
Last week WW: 250.0 lbs
This week WW: 247.4 lbs
I’m beyond excited. I’m back on the weight loss train and I’m ready to go.
My mood on Friday was drastically better from the midweek blahs. I don’t know whether to...

Day Three of Kicking Ass and Taking Names
Today I:
Drank all most of the water.
Ate smartly.
Went to the gym.
My knee still doesn’t feel great but I decided enough was enough. My lack of exercise is affecting my mood. I’ve been kind of mopey all week because all of my running endorphins are absent.
I hit up the elliptical first but the around and around motion HURT. I jumped off and got on the bike. At first my knee...

Two Days in a Row...
Two days in a row I’ve stuck to my points!
This is MONUMENTAL! I rarely count points and when I do it’s more of “eh…this is about 3 points”. But I drank 100 oz of water yesterday and ate really well and woke up this morning at 247.6 which got me excited because I’ve been bouncing between 249 and 251 for a few weeks. I’m ready to see that number head down...

My Three Things
So the goals plans I made for Sunday happened today instead…mostly.
Yesterday turned into Hunger Games Part 2 including lunch at Chili’s. So today I started in on my 5 servings of fruits and veggies. I’ve been relying on strawberries, bananas, zucchini, broccoli and asparagus as of late.
Today’s fruits and veggies included:
A smoothie with frozen mixed berries and...

1:31 AM
Just got home from The Hunger Games…eh. It was a bit too Blair Witch for me.
Tomorrow I’m going to do (at least) 3 things:
1. Eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies.
2. Get at least 30 minutes of exercise.
3. Update my resume.
(And take out the trash.)
These are my goals plans for tomorrow. Goals may not be met. Plans will be done…or I’ve heard there may be a burpee...

Weekend Update
After a week of questionable eating, lack of exercise, and generally mopey behavior, I managed a 0.4 lb loss at Weight Watchers this morning.
Last week, I officially changed from my Monday meeting to a Saturday meeting but when they switched my registration they reset all of my weight loss progress. I now have a new 5% and 10 % goal. I’m torn because I want the previous 18 pounds...

Having a Rough Night
I came off a week of running and goal accomplishing and losing two pounds but I’ve been off this week. My ankle is aching again so I’ve put running on the back burner.
I haven’t been sleeping well, I’ve been eating huge dinners, I’ve been skipping workouts…hmmm could this all be related?
I’m so stressed about job searching for next year. There is a...

Where the Sidewalk Ends
Originally I was going to do nothing today…but I woke up early (for a Sunday) and after watching an entire movie, eating breakfast and lunch, and reading the second half of the second Hunger Games book it was only 3:00. So I decided it was too gorgeous out to waste the rest of the day.
I hit up the track for a run/walk and it was infested with jocky high school lacrosse players. Now, I...

Running the Rain
Questions from a new runner <—-See what I did there? I referred to myself as a runner without quotation marks.
So in the rain do we:
dress to attempt to stay dry?
dress to get wet?
wear old sneakers so they have time to dry?
wear waterproof sneakers?
wear special socks?
leave electronics at home?
skip a run?
hit up the gym?

What's Next For Me
After achieving my goal of a sub-15 minute mile (!) I am going to turn my efforts to running a mile without walking.
This is such a humbling experience because I bet most people can run at least a mile…or 1/2 a mile…or 1/4 of a mile. Yesterday I did some intervals of running for 1:30 (which was a big deal for a total beginner…a.k.a. me). My next plan is 1/2 a lap of continuous...

So...Guess What I Did Today?
Five days ago, I “ran” a timed mile for the March Mile Madness thing. I ran it in 16:52.
Four days ago, I ran a mile in 15:27.
Two days ago, I had a crappy run but still managed to better my time. I ran a mile in 15:18.
I’ve been so proud of my progress but have a hard time believing I’m actually getting better. Obviously my times prove otherwise. I’ve just...

Bad News & Good News
The Bad:
Today’s run sucked…like whoa. I was improperly fueled, I got overheated, and my legs were all “WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME!” I could barely run for a minute straight so I ended up splitting up the running and running shorter stints more often.
The Good:
I wanted to walk whole laps…but I didn’t. I told myself not to get discouraged by the girl who lapped...

Mission Accomplished
After doing some research (i.e. Google) I’ve come to understand that typically, you measure a mile on the inside lane of a track…which is good to know because I thought my mile time was a mistake due to incorrect measurement.
Two days ago my mile time was 16:52. My goal for today was simply to be at least 1 second faster.
Well…even though I ran against the wind, I’m...

16:51?
About to do some miles.
What do we (collectively) know about measuring an exact mile on a track? Inside lane? Outside lane? Middle?
Goal is to beat 16:52.

Amy "runs" a mile.
I know an entire week of March has already passed, but I really want to jump on this whole make your mile faster bandwagon. I have spent the last week with the plague (on Monday I ended the school day with 9 out of 18 students left in class…the other second grade class only had 5 kids left standing).
I was feeling better over the weekend when I completed my “ride 26.2 miles on a bike...
